We did not expect to be so lucky in our first motorhome rental experience in Europe. Daniel's comfortable motorhome had a huge impact on us having a dream vacation on the magical Alsace route and returning with wonderful memories. We did not have any problem in terms of technical equipment. We connected electricity from outside for 1 night during our 1-week vacation, even though we didn't need it at all, just out of curiosity. He happily helped us when we asked him if he could help with the pillow and duvet cover set, stating that we would be arriving with a connecting flight from Turkey with a long delay. Even though it turned out later, when he heard that our daughter would join us for 2 days, he offered to give an extra pillow and duvet cover set for her, as well as a camping chair. Daniel and his wonderful wife both served us organic apple juice and soda, and also brought it with us. We were very happy with everything from the cleanliness of the vehicle to the technical equipment, the kindness of Daniel and his wife. We recommend it persistently and with peace of mind. - Yescapa
Pick up and return of the vehicle went without problems. Everything was easily and nicely explained to us. The camper was completely clean, like new with all the necessary equipment. We were very satisfied and have no complaints. - Yescapa
The owners are perfect in organizing the rental. Great communication before we arrived. They helped us with transportation from and to the airport. Such a wonderful people 😊. The auto caravan is in great condition and the equipment is sufficient for whole family. We spent a wonderful week in Alentejo and Algarve with Joao's van. His vintage van has all the essentials and is perfect for an adventure trip in these amazing places.Joao is very friendly and helpful, providing tips for the trip and solutions for any kind of issue. - Yescapa
Joao was very responsive and nice. The sleeping part of the van is cozy and great: kitchen, bed, bedding… Its an old car so the driving has its ups and downs. Good that it is a small island with no big distances so its okay. - Yescapa
Estávamos fazendo um mochilão e sempre pensando quando iríamos pegar a Caravana. Expectativas lá no alto sempre e foram correspondidas.Os doze dias que alugamos pareceram doze minutos, de tão bom que foi. Tudo que pudemos fazer com a nossa "casa" andando com a gente pareceu um filme.Super recomendo a Mercedes da Gerogea, todos equipamentos que precisávamos estava incluso na caravana, nota 10/10. - Yescapa
After extensive research, we chose Van Captain for our family trip to southern Portugal, and we couldn't have made a better choice. Both the van and its owner were exceptional. It was our first camper trip, and we fell in love with this type of travel. Pedro is an amazing person. He patiently explained everything and provided assistance whenever needed. He suggested several places to visit, and they turned out to be the best spots we've ever been to. Once again, a huge thank you for this wonderful experience! We highly recommend to rent a camper from this couple! Everything worked great, from comunication to rental. Also the camper was nice. Very communicative with quick response times. Went above and beyond to pick us up and drop us off at the airport and went over everything thoroughly. The camper is older but is functional and the over cab ned is SO comfortable, especially for a camper! Has everything you need (basics) and with a quick trip to a grocer you’re ready to go! The camper also gets really solid gas mileage and is easy to drive and park especially with the backup cam! Highly recommend! - Yescapa
We rented this vehicle for about two weeks to do a family trip around Portugal and part of Spain.We were happy with the entire process. The Motorhome was reliable and easy to drive around due to its size and shape which made it possible to go almost every where which was is big advantage in my opinion.Also Miguel , the owner, was very nice and well communicated and supportive, - Yescapa
My partner and I had a fantastic 4 night trip in Sao Miguel. Beatriz and Tiago were phenomenal! It was our first time using the platform and things didn't start off well with issues booking (a yescapa problem). Yet B&T were always communicating with me and we finally got the correct dates to be reserved. B&T went above and beyond to ensure we had a good experience, offering their time, suggestions and help to troubleshoot.The van is beautifully decorated and well equipped. People always peeked inside when we had the doors open. We used the table and chairs, and the stove on multiple occasions. The bed was okay, as can be expected from a campervan. At 5'9 I was just about able to be straight from heel to head. If you are a much taller person, you might feel uncomfortable. With the curtains, we had privacy at night. We kept things tidy all the time and recommend doing so as things can quickly get out of hand in tight spaces. The water pump was reliable, as were the lights and power outlets (USB, 12 volt and usb-C) to charge our devices. We even had a portable espresso machine that I used often. Unfortunately it led us to run out of gas for our meals on the final day. The sink looks cute but is perhaps not the most functional design. The water tank was large enough for us to not have to refill it over our 4 nights but we were also very careful and didn't waste water. We really appreciated having some spices and the oil and vinegar to make salads. There were lots of pots (3) but unfortunately no lids - I would have preferred 1 pot with a lid along with the kettle which was useful to boil water. We thought we had a good amount of space for storing our food and our carry-on suitcases. B&T even had a basket of games and an instax camera available for our use!Sao Miguel is a hilly island. Accessing beaches or miradouros always means driving down switchbacks and certainly an experienced driver is needed (5 speed manual, diesel). The engine would struggle at times, and knowing when to switch gears was important to keep momentum and maintain speed up inclines. The van had no issues climbing very steep hills (>10%) on first gear. We found some amazing spots to spend the night and it was a very cool way of covering lots of ground and explore the island. At the time of our rental, the radiator fan was not working and this resulted in very foggy windshield one morning until it cleared up. It was not a big deal but could have posed a safety issue while driving if the fog had persisted. The van did have a modern display screen enabling you to connect your device and play music, but the speakers we lacking in sound quality and volume.All in all, I can't think of a much better way to explore the island than using a campervan. We had a great adventure and it was definitely due to the kindness and efforts from B&T and all the great people we met along the way. - Yescapa
We had a great time in Joao’s Blue Hotel. The van came equipped with everything we needed to cook and clean and there were tons of USB outlets to charge our phones, speakers, and backup batteries. The bed, pillows, and blankets provided were super comfortable and we slept well during our 15 day rental!Joao gave detailed instructions on how to use the equipment. I will say that driving the van definitely has a learning curve to it and you should be confident driving an older manual vehicle. Joao was available if we needed anything but our trip was smooth and we didn’t have any issues. Traveling Portugal by van is 100% the best way to explore and I recommend renting a van from Joao! - Yescapa

The hire went smoothly, Luca met us in convenient places and gave us a lift to the station. There was one issue with the van but Luca sorted it out so that we didn’t lose much time! The van worked well, and was adequately equipped. - Yescapa
Everything was great about our rental experience, Peter and hos family were great, helped us with items like a baby chair before we arrived, collected us at airport, gave us very good instructions and supported us on our journey. We couldn't have asked for more. The campervan was great perfect for 3 of us with EVERYTHING you need to make a great camping experience. - Yescapa
