Elena's Converted van

Meet Harry, our friendly converted Van!

Designed by myself, converted by fantastic van builders here in Portugal in 2022, this Ducato is more like a tiny house rather than a camper. We put special care into choosing good quality materials, which you can feel when you are inside.

AMBIANCE

The wooden ceiling and kitchen countertop give a warm honey ambiance to the whole place, gently complimented by sea green upholstery fabric. There's windows placed in every side of the vehicle, so you always know what's happening outside and can enjoy the views. Each window has blinds and mosquito nets as well in case you'd prefer your privacy. Extra roof window with electric fan for ventilation.

KITCHEN

The kitchen features a gas stove with two burners, a fridge, a sink with running water, and is fully equipped with cutlery, cooking utensils etc... There's two overhead shelves with plenty of space for food stocks.

BATHROOM + WARDROBE

The bathroom has a shower with possibility for hot water through an installed therme, and includes a compost toilet. There is also a big mirror.

Just next to it I have designed a wardrobe with removable drawers that has enough space for 2 people, including toileteries.

LIVING ROOM + BED

The living area is a comfortably shaped U with a freely movable swivel table. It's a pleasant place to sit with lots of airspace, and small shelves for your books.

At night, the swivel table can be removed easily, and transforms into the support for the mattress, where 2 people can sleep comfortably (bed dimensions: 2m length x 1,2m width).

STORAGE

From the back doors you have access to a huge storage area underneath the living room, with enough space for suitcases etc.

LIGHTING

A special feature! The whole interior is equipped with dimable warm light, with several buttons, so you can customize your unique atmosphere. 3 spotlights in the ceiling + individually controlable indirect lighting above the kitchen counter, sink, in the living area, and in the bathroom, and, as a special feature, floor lighting for the extra cozy feel.

WATER + ELECTRICITY

The van has a 100l fresh water tank and is connected to an electric pump and warm water heater. Electricity is produced via the two solar panels on the roof, and provides plenty of energy in the summer months.

HEATER

Not that you will likely need it in summer Portugal, but there is a diesel-heater too.

ROOF

The deck on the roof is designed as a sitting balcony for two people and perfect to enjoy a sunrise or the nightsky! Accessable via a mobile ladder.
