The perfect campervan for a family of 4 or a couple. It appears to have been built with exploring Scotland in mind - perfect width for the narrow roads, no pop up roofs to struggle with in the wind, a large water tank to allow 3 days of total independence from any supplies, easy handling of the vehicle, a very powerful heating and enough interior space to easily cope with the odd rainy day. Its dark colour makes it less intrusive on the eye when legally wild camping in remote forests or beaches. 4 people travel in comfort and the large king size bed at the rear can accommodate up to 3 people at a little squeeze and 2 adults in great comfort (1 berth is 190cm long, the other two 1.75cm). There is one front berth which is clearly not for tall people and sleeps 1 person up to 1.6m in height only. It has plenty of storage compartments and a huge storage area under the bed. We are happy to leave you some guidebooks, nature guides, DVDs and our extensive collection of 1:50000 ordnance survey maps. Those are useful, since google maps usually loses connection or your phone the will to live when the walk gets really spectacular. There are very few corners of Scotland we have not yet been to and we are happy to advise you on places of interest, beautiful camping spots and even where you might find Chanterelles. Just ask. The campervan has reasonable power to climb even the most dramatic hills and we fitted winter tyres to give it more traction on muddy and wet roads. All windows are fitted with mosquito nets. It has a large awning that provides ample protection from the strong sunlight that you often encounter in Scotland and even keeps you dry in the rain as long as there is no strong wind. It is equipped with everything you need for comfortable camping. We can provide a small tent for the kids, a foldable bicycle, an inflatable kayak for 2, a telescope and some fire wood for the fire pit/BBQ on request. Linen and towels are included. Depending on our own commitments we might be able to arrange a handover and return at the airport for an additional fee. There is free on street parking for your own car within a 10-minute walk from our house. The van is extremely well equipped and the appliances in the campervan have the added complexity of being driven by either gas or plug in electricity. Unfortunately, that means there is a bit of explaining to be done. Please allow a good 60-90minutes for a thorough handover so you get the most out of your campervan holiday. The campervan is our family holiday home and we love it! It's in a good to very good condition but could not honestly be labelled as pristine.
A little word about the vehicle handovers: we do have jobs and our preferred handover days are Saturday, Sunday all day or Tuesday, Thursday and Friday afternoons. The other days, we can only do very early (before 7am) or late (after 7pm) handovers. We think it's important that we don't have to rush.

We are a family of 4 with a small dog. I am a lighting designer and my husband a GP. We love Scotland and came to settle here over 25 years ago. We love the wild scenery and the tranquility of the Highlands and Islands as well as the stunning architecture, history and culture of the cities and towns. Our campervan is always ready to go and when the sun shines, we are often off for a quick night away to one of the beautiful villages, hills or beaches around Edinburgh.
